Substance Use Specialist (BR ACT)
Job Description
Community based mental health program in need of a second substance use specialist. MUST have at least 1 year experience in working with individuals with addictions/ substance use disorders.
Minimum Requirements
Master Degree in social services field.
2 years of specialized training or supervision experience in populations with substance use.
Be over 18 years of age.
Possess a valid driver's license.

Job Duties/Skills Required
Participates as part of a multidisciplinary team providing substance abuse counseling, support, and resources for referrals when appropriate.
Completes assessments on client's current and previous substance use to better provide services individualized to client needs.
Conducts in a manner of professionalism that is conductive to recovery from mental illness, co-occurring disorders and overall wellness.
Provides supportive services for clients and arranges for the provision of services from community resources based on individualized treatment plans.
Participates in setting treatment plan goals/objectives with clients within 30 days of admission and updated every 3 months.
Interviews clients and completes assessments and other clinical documentation.
Conducts co-occurring groups and treatment as outlined in the ACT Fidelity Manual with supervision of Team Lead and other licensed professional staff.
Performs regular case maintance activities including documenting actions, making narrative entries, preparing necessary reports and/or social summaries, etc.
Consults with facility personnel and administrative field personnel; collects and analyzes data to identify needs for the assigned special services program within the particular service area.
Ascertain resources outside of Start when necessary to meet client's specific needs.
Maintains a clear driving record in order to be able to drive company vehicles to provide transportation to clients.
Attends daily, weekly and/or monthly staff and supervision meetings.
Assists Team Leader or Director with additional duties, oversight or specific functions, or serving as lead role to other ACT team members.
Attends daily staff meetings and supervision.
